Bros Everywhere Rejoice As FDA Announces Zyn Has Been Authorized For Sale & Marketing Following Extensive Study

Zyn

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has officially backed the popular nicotine pouches known as Zyn. That's what you call a win for smokers trying to quit smoking cigarettes, and an even bigger victory for guys named "Chad" and "Brody" that simply can't get enough of the Zyn life. The nicotine pouches have become a popular tobacco-free alternative to smoking, vaping, or chewing tobacco, and they’re undoubtedly the largest nicotine pouch brand on the market right now. But back in January of last year, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Shumer called for the government to take a long, hard look at Zyn and asked for the FTC and the FDA to investigate the marketing of the nicotine pouches and their health effects. So the FTC and FDA did just that, and I'd imagine Chuck Shumer isn't happy with how the investigation went. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released their findings on Zyn earlier today, and they authorized (shockingly if you ask me) the nicotine pouches for sale and marketing, as it read in their release: "Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the marketing of 20 ZYN nicotine pouch products through the premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) pathway following an extensive scientific review. This is the first time the agency has authorized products commonly referred to as nicotine pouches, which are small synthetic fiber pouches containing nicotine designed to be placed between a person’s gum and lip.   The FDA determined that the specific products receiving marketing authorization met the public health standard legally required by the 2009 Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. This standard considers the risks and benefits of products to the population as a whole." https://twitter.com/NicholasFlorko/status/1879926877311365313 YOU CAN'T KEEP ZYN DOWN BABY! As to why the FDA came to this conclusion, the release went on to say that they considered a number of different factors, including the safety when compared to the alternative nicotine and tobacco products on the market, as well as the role that Zyn can play in helping those using cigarettes and smokeless kick their addiction: "Among several key considerations, the agency’s evaluation showed that, due to substantially lower amounts of harmful constituents than cigarettes and most smokeless tobacco products, such as moist snuff and snus, the authorized products pose lower risk of cancer and other serious health conditions than such products. The applicant also provided evidence from a study showing that a substantial proportion of adults who use cigarette and/or smokeless tobacco products completely switched to the newly authorized nicotine pouch products." Do you hear that sound? It's the sound of thousands of bros all across the world letting out a collective and unified, "Hell yeah." Zyn bravely knocked on the doorstep of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the FDA stepped aside and let them walk right in. And social media is rejoicing over the news that Zyns are here to stay: Did Zyn ever really go anywhere though?
