![“My Actions Were Not Without Provocation” – Eagles Fan Issues Statement After Being Caught On Video Calling Packers Fan An “Ugly Dumb C**t”]()
![Philadelphia Eagles fan Ryan Caldwell]()
Speaking out for the first time...well, technically the second I guess.
A video showing a disgusting interaction between a Philadelphia Eagles fan and a female Green Bay Packers fan during the NFL wild card playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend went viral earlier this week, causing the Eagles fan to ultimately lose his job and reportedly earning him a ban from future Eagles home games.
In the
original video, the Eagles fan can be heard hurling disgusting insults at the woman:
“She’s an ugly dumb c*nt. You gonna do anything? Shut the f*ck up. Turn around and watch the game.”

Even the Eagles fans around him looked embarrassed and tried to get him to chill out, while some fans to social media to apologize for the guy’s behavior.
Of course, the internet quickly identified the man as Ryan Caldwell, a project manager at BCT Partners. The New Jersey-based company focuses on DEI management consulting, advertising itself as a team “comprised of seasoned experts and professionals in diversity, equity, and inclusion issues, and are adept at managing projects through an equity lens with the intent of finding solutions that are impartial and progressive.”
Ironic, eh?
BCT Partners quickly denounced the actions of their employee, releasing a statement after Caldwell was identified to announce that they would conduct an internal investigation, before ultimately announcing that they had parted ways with Caldwell while calling his comments "vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific."
Other than the video, we haven't heard anything from Caldwell himself - until now.
In a statement emailed to Whiskey Riff, the Eagles fan issued an apology to the Packers fan, who has been identified as Ally Keller, while saying that the video on social media doesn't tell the full story:
“While attending an NFL game last Sunday to support my beloved Philadelphia Eagles, an incident occurred that I deeply regret. What began as banter with two Packers fans sitting near me escalated to something more serious, and I said things that were unacceptable. In the heat of the moment, I chose unforgiving words to address one of the fans, Ms. Ally Keller.
I want to sincerely apologize to Ms. Keller for those words, and to my wife, family, and friends, my former employer and colleagues, Packer fans, Eagle fans, the Philadelphia Eagles, the City of Philadelphia, and all who were offended.
That said, there are two sides to every story. The video clip circulating online does not reflect the full context of what transpired, and my actions were not without provocation. I will live with this experience, and I am certainly paying a personal price. For those who don’t know me, this incident does not reflect my values or the respect I have for others and is not indicative of the person I am.”
Like I
said before, there were plenty who thought that Caldwell's firing based on a video clip without further context was going too far and yet another example of "cancel culture," while others applauded the company for parting ways with the man.
Wherever you land on the issue, it's obviously only fair that both sides get to tell their side of the story - although as Caldwell admits, there's really not really any excuse to call a woman an "ugly dumb c*nt."
