First Responders From Butler County, Pennsylvania To Lead President Donald Trump’s Inaugural Parade

Donald Trump Corey Comperatore RNC

Honoring their fallen brother. President Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated to his second term next Monday, January 20th, only the second time in American history that a president has been elected to serve two non-consecutive terms. And today, we're getting an idea of exactly what the inaugural ceremonies for the 47th president will look like. On Sunday, the day before the inauguration, Trump will hold a victory rally featuring performances from Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, and - the Village People. Bet you'd never thought you'd see that lineup on the same stage, eh? And of course it was revealed earlier today that Carrie Underwood would be performing "America the Beautiful" during the inauguration, immediately ahead of Trump taking the oath of office, an announcement that caused some fans to vow to boycott the American Idol alum's music. Then in the evening, Trump will take part in three separate inaugural balls, featuring entertainment from, among others, Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts. Sounds like POTUS is going to have a busy first day. But between the inauguration ceremony and the inaugural balls, he'll be making time for an inaugural parade, which will take place on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC. And leading the parade will be a special group of heroes: The first responders from Butler County, Pennsylvania, who were on the scene and jumped into action after the assassination attempt on President Trump at his rally back in July. Of course the shooting not only wounded President Trump, but took the life of Butler County firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was honored by Trump during the Republican National Convention back in August. https://twitter.com/charliekirk11/status/1824540321751150799 The group of first responders in the inaugural parade will include Pennsylvania State and local police, county sheriffs, Emergency Services Unit/SWAT Team, fire and rescue, EMS, 911 radio dispatch, and hospital personnel marching to honor their fallen fellow first responder. Trump returned to the site of the assassination attempt months after the shooting to finish what he started, saving a seat at the rally for Comperatore and hosting the fallen firefighter's family in the front row. https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1842557378526695861 Along with the first responders, the inaugural parade will feature bands from high schools and universities around the country, as well as units from each branch of the United States military. https://twitter.com/EricLDaugh/status/1878958258431598888 Security will no doubt be heightened for the parade, after multiple assassination attempts have already been made on Trump during the campaign. During his last inaugural parade, the president exited his motorcade and walked during parts of the route along with his wife and family, but there's no word yet on whether Trump plans to instead stay inside the presidential limousine this time out of an abundance of caution. Recently, officials warned of potential security threats surrounding the inauguration weekend: "Threat actors with election-related grievances likely view the Inauguration as their last opportunity to influence the election results through violence. The motives of some recent assailants are not entirely coherent or remain unknown, highlighting the difficulty in predicting lone offender violence." Let's hope that it's a safe, fun weekend for all involved, and that the Butler County first responders get the respect that they deserve as they honor one of their fallen brothers.
