![New Orleans First Responders Praised For Immediately Running Towards New Years Terrorist Attack]()

Horrific news out of New Orleans.
This morning around 3 A.M. - mere hours after many rang in the new year on Bourbon Street, tragedy struck. An
individual drove their truck into a crowd of people that were still celebrating the holiday, killing 10 and injuring over 35 others.
After the suspect crashed into what appears to be a construction lift, it's being reported that the person got out of the truck and engaged with New Orleans police that were stationed there in anticipation of the New Year's celebration. Two officers suffered gunshot wounds before the terror suspect was killed by the police.
Obviously, the investigation into the violent act is still early. A motive is still being sought out, and the FBI has declared the attack an act of terrorism, as you can read in their statement from earlier today:
"This morning, an individual drove a car into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing a number of people and injuring dozens of others. The subject then engaged with local law enforcement and is now deceased.
The FBI is the lead investigative agency, and we are working with our partners to investigate this as an act of terrorism."

The perpetrator has been identified as 42 year old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was flying an ISIS flag from the truck:

News of the attack started spreading quickly online, as did this video of New Orleans police officers stationed nearby the attack running towards the danger. The group of first responders didn't hesitate once the attack took place, as you'll see in this street view footage of the officers sprinting towards the truck while others ran away.
