Patrons Immediately Grabbed Stools & Beat Knife-Wielding Maniac Who Walked Into A Kansas City Christmas Bar

Kansas City Bar

Not all heroes wear capes. Back on December 14th, a pop-up bar in Kansas City, Missouri was almost the setting for a violent attack. If it weren't for bar goers that sprung into action, customers and employees at the bar could have been seriously injured. A Kansas City man by the name of Rustam Huseinov was reportedly causing a disturbance at the Miracle at the Plaza holiday pop-up bar on Thursday, December 12th. The authorities were called and he was told to leave the premises after he was labeled as "disruptive." Police told the 42-year-old man to not return to the bar, and he didn't that night. But Huseinov did go back two days later. Just before 11 P.M. on Saturday, the police were called to the Miracle at the Plaza pop-up once more. They were informed of similar problems happening at the hands of the exact same man, Rustam Huseinov. Court documents show that he "refused to leave the bar and had to be restrained by staff" after causing another disturbance. One bar employee was apparently bit by the man during this time, but they decided not to press charges. So once more, the man was forced to leave the bar and told not to return to the premises. He ended up coming back an hour after that (around 12 A.M.), and this time, he was armed with a large kitchen knife. According to first hand accounts, the man was trying to stab people in the bar, and he specifically "targeted the employees that had escorted him out earlier." The good folks of Kansas City, Missouri, just trying to enjoy a drink the Christmas themed bar weren't going to let that happen. As you'll see in the video below, a multitude of people within the establishment decided that they were going to be the judge, jury and executioner - at least until the police were able to arrive. Many started picking up the red bar stools that were placed all throughout the bar and utilized them as a weapon. Holiday-themed chairs were flying through the air and in the direction of Rustam Huseinov. By working together, and jumping into action, the bar goers were able to corner and subdue the knife-wielding man. Authorities arrived shortly after and were able to take Huseinov into custody with no further incident. Miraculously - almost as if they were at a bar called the Miracle at the Plaza - there were no injuries reported... not even to the guy who was beat with a barrage of barstools. The charges that Rustam Huseinov now faces add up to seven felonies and one misdemeanor, including second-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action, first-degree harassment, first-degree terrorist threat, first-degree property damage and first-degree trespassing. It's estimated that Huseinov's attempted violent act led to $3,000 in property damage, and those expenses go up almost $1,000 if you include the unpaid bar tabs from bar goers that fled when they felt as though they were in danger. All in all though, it's great to see some good ol' Kansas City, Missouri residents taking matters into their own hands when someone tried to harm employees at the Christmas pop-up bar: https://twitter.com/CollinRugg/status/1871017756834906587 Merry Christmas... and stay safe out there.
