Yellowstoneis in the midst of its gripping final season, with just a couple episodes left, but fans are also hungry for the second season of its stunning prequel series. The second installment of the Yellowstone origin story, 1923 was always meant to be a two-season (or two-part single season depending on you want to phrase it) series, but it sure is taking a LONG time to wrap up.
Starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, 1923 picks up where 1883 left off, telling the story of how the Dutton family settled in Montana, and worked to build the empire that we see in the modern-day Yellowstone series. Battling historic droughts, Western expansion, Prohibition, pandemics and the Great Depression (Montana's economy had been struggling severely following World War 1, all the way through the Great Depression), 1923 gives fans a look at just how hard it was to plant roots in Montana at the turn of the century.
Season 1 was fantastic. Taylor Sheridan had perhaps outdone himself, filming all across the world including Montana, Texas, Malta, Africa and more. The cast is phenomenal, the storyline captivating... it just might be the crown jewel of Taylor Sheridan's resume when all said and done, but the only problem... when the hell is gonna be all said and done? Season 1 premiered back in December of 2022, and we're now approaching a full two years since. That's a long time to wait for any show. And granted, a lot of shows seem to be taking much longer than usual for any number of reasons, but many fans blame Taylor Sheridan for trying to balance 10 shows at one time.
And to make matters worse, Paramount Network keeps posting old trailers, giving fans a false sense of hope that Season 2 is on the way. They recently announced that 1923 Season 1 will be arriving on Paramount Network, in addition to their streaming platform Paramount+ (where is exclusively debuted), and let's just say fans were less than please with the news.
I mean, we've had two years to watch this... is the fact that it is coming to Paramount really that big of a deal? Who hasn't seen it by now?

Fans took to the comments section and overwhelmingly blasted Paramount for delaying the premiere of Season 2.

And that's just a glimpse of the comments... it went on like that for quite a while.
The good news is that 1923 Season 2 HAS finished filming, and is currently in post production. Depending on how long that takes, it's pretty plausible that we could see a premiere in early 2025. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it as early as January or February... maybe March? However, some publications have predicted a mid to late 2025 premiere, which may cause fans to riot. Are we really gonna go nearly 3 years between seasons? C'mon...
Of course, we also know that Taylor Sheridan is planning to release The Madison,a modern-day Yellowstone spinoff series starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox and more. That could also potentially premiere in early 2025. Not to mention, he probably has a dozen other irons in the fire... so who really knows. It's all speculation at this point. All we really know is that fans are frustrated as all hell and re-runs of Season 1 isn't going to quell that rage.
