I'm not exactly a Brad Keselowski fan, but I respect the heck outta this.
Yesterday, he won not only his first NASCAR Cup Series race since Talladega at 2021, a span of 110 races since that last trip to Victory Lane, but also his first race since becoming an owner of RFK Racing and leaving Penske to drive the #6 car for his own team.
The win came at the end of a wild race at Darlington, one that saw Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher wreck while racing for the lead in the closing laps and allowing Keselowski to pounce and take home the win.
BK had been racing up front all day, and has been competing for wins all season, so you knew it was just a matter of time before he broke that winless streak. So it was all the more sweeter that it came at such a historic track like Darlington.
And of course, after securing the big win and doing some burnouts, Keselowski flew his signature American flag out the window of his No. 6 Castrol car as he drove past fans in the front stretch grand stands.
It's something he does after every win, but obviously, also something he hasn't had the opportunity to do in a while, so everyone in his crew, fans and of course family, were very excited to see that sight once again.
But possibly no one was happier about it than Brad's oldest daughter, Scarlett, who wanted to take the race-winning flag to school today, so her class could use it when they did the Pledge of Allegiance. Scarlett is eight years old now, but was just five the last time her dad won at Talladega.
Brad's wife, Paige, shared a video of Scarlett walking into school carrying the flag as she rolled her backpack behind her:
"No one happier than this girl. She wanted to take the race winning flag to school today so her class could use it for the pledge of allegiance."
Clearly, they're raising her right, and I'm sure it was equally as fun for Scarlett to show that flag off to her classmates as it was to use for the Pledge:
