The Internet Puts Netflix On Blast For Lagged Streams Leading Into Jake Paul-Mike Tyson Fight

Tyson Paul

To be fair to Netflix, for me personally, I'm having only occasional pixelated frames and no interruptions to my streaming experience for the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson undercard. however, a lot of folks are popping off on social media after experiencing a poorer connection, lags, and even having to log in and out to try to watch the stream. As the final bout before Paul and Tyson take the ring between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano gets underway, the reactions to Netflix's massive event at AT&T Stadium — aka the house that Jerry Jones built — are largely dissatisfied. https://twitter.com/mulvihill79/status/1857625561558069318 https://twitter.com/Cade_Onder/status/1857624722235642036 https://twitter.com/LawrenceSmelser/status/1857624812941705420 https://twitter.com/CCPISASSH0E/status/1857598667462488488 https://twitter.com/JonnyRoot_/status/1857610112468496782 https://twitter.com/rgfray1/status/1857624248824561883 https://twitter.com/ragincajuntsw/status/1857602085438578747 https://twitter.com/RampCapitalLLC/status/1857624666946380194 https://twitter.com/texan_angler/status/1857627000816423135 https://twitter.com/RobFoxThree/status/1857623050449019224 Damn. People on X/Twitter be like that sometimes. Not a lot of glowing reviews! But look, nothing could be more fitting for the Paul vs. Tyson circus than for the main streaming provider to have issues handling all the traffic and demand. I must say I am surprised, because Netflix can handle the wave of streamers who flock to the platform whenever a new season of Stranger Things drops at once, yet Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have apparently has their IT department scrambling behind the scenes. As somebody who's been on the wrong end of technological issues/been betrayed by nefarious invisible forces via a computer many times, there's a certain amount of this stuff that's totally out of human control. I'm not saying Skynet is sentient or that AI is already coming for us all, but now I'm cracking up at the scenario where the machine super intelligence has its official coming-out party to shame us for lapping up this Paul vs. Tyson ridiculousness. On a more realistic note, you'd think that even more people will flock to Netflix once Paul and Tyson finally get to the canvas at some ungodly hour for those of us on the East Coast. Come on, guys. It already gets dark here at like 4:30. I'm sufficiently depressed and nocturnal as is. Now you're making me wait this long — and it's not even a 95% guarantee that the main event will stream smoothly for me? Woof! Send help! At least the split draw bout between Mario Barrios and Abel Ramos generated some positive buzz from some of the diehard boxing heads out there. https://twitter.com/AlbertByzo05/status/1857615781107835248 https://twitter.com/DannyRamirez/status/1857619449768997333 https://twitter.com/netflix/status/1857619164279763150 Those dudes went 12 rounds? Felt like it was over in a blink! Maybe my perception of time is warped by daylight savings and my begrudging anticipation for Paul vs. Tyson. I really don't know how it's gonna go, but it seems so unlikely that it'll go the distance. Eight rounds? Between a YouTube star who picked up boxing not terribly long ago, and is in his feelings about Tyson slapping him? Pretty sure Paul will want to end this thing quick. When Iron Mike was at his best — you know, decades ago — he was famous for ending fights in swift fashion. Given all the disrespect Paul has shown him, I'm betting Tyson will want to empty the tank early and try to knock him out, too. He can only have so much stamina at 58 years old. Let's just hope every Netflix subscriber tuned in can actually see the fight when it arrives. I'm confident they can sort out all the issues. We shall see!
