Donald Trump and Joe Biden are suddenly the best of friends.
Earlier today, the current president and the former/soon-to-be POTUS met at the White House ahead of the transition as Trump gets set to move (back) into the White House. It marked the first time that Trump has been to Washington D.C. since he won the 2024 Presidential Election, and his first time back at the White House since he left in 2021.
Ahead of Trump's second inauguration, Biden invited the former president and his political rival to the Oval Office for what ended up being a two hour meeting.
And a sit down like this isn't uncommon. This get together is a ceremonial tradition aimed at ensuring a peaceful transfer of power, and from the looks of it, the two older men that politics has pitted against one another couldn't have enjoyed each other's company more.
It was actually kind of weird to see how well Biden and Trump seemed to get along, just because we became accustomed to seeing them bash one another at their respective rallies (while Biden was still running), and not too long ago saw the two go head-to-head in a tense, who-is-better-at-golf presidential debate.
This time around though, it was all smiles and handshakes as they sat in front of a roaring fireplace in the Oval Office:

After giving photo opportunities to the media, Trump and Biden had a two hour meeting in which the president elect was described as "gracious" and "prepared." Former President Trump apparently came to the White House with a number of questions for Joe Biden and his team, which lead to an extensive conversation about a variety of different, undisclosed issues.
That's great and all, but social media couldn't help but notice that Biden was seemingly beaming with happiness as he sat down next to Trump. That led many to joke online that Biden was happy that his former adversary won the 2024 Presidential Election. And with how wide of a smile Joe Biden sported for much of the meeting, it might be hard to deny that:

https://twitter.com/TSDmemes/status/1856767351565205674 Obviously, no one knows who Joe Biden voted for. One would assume he voted for his own vice president, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter anyways. Donald Trump is headed back to the White House for another four years. And I'll leave you with this (who said AI isn't at its full potential?): https://twitter.com/arikuschnir/status/1856739100222718261We all know, he did! pic.twitter.com/rGspNV7qH1
