![Stephen A. Smith Tells ‘The View” He Would Consider Running For President In 2028 While Simultaneously Destroying Their Entire Election Narrative]()
![Stephen A Smith]()
Stephen A. Smith was on
The View today, and I know what all of you are thinking... how does he have time to do everything that he does?
The sports personality stays very busy nowadays, starting off his day with
First Take and then recording his personal, non-ESPN-affiliated
Stephen A. Smith Show in the afternoons. He also helps hosts too many other shows on ESPN to count, and can still apparently find time to stop in and chat with the women on
The View.
Now I won't get too much into
The View, because there's (far) more important things to get to. But I will point you towards this fun story from earlier in the week when
Trump supporters tuned into the daytime talkshow to really enjoy the panel's reaction to the 2024 Presidential Election.
This episode,
The View brought on Stephen A. Smith, who has been more outspoken about politics in recent years. And he was confidently able to touch on a number of different subjects, like Trump running for President because he failed to buy the Buffalo Bills, explaining why he personally believed the Latino voters supported Trump in the election, and how Americans mainly care about the economy in terms of how it affects them.
He honestly destroyed their entire self-righteous, victim mentality, identity politics narrative with a few basic facts... and I'm not saying he's got all the answers, but it was refreshing to watch.
Smith was so knowledgeable on it all that
The View eventually asked the question that Stephen A. has been asked many times: would he run for President? The longtime sports show host kept thing simple with his answer:
"I have said this on many occasions. The answer would be, 'Hell no.' Because I like my life. I'm living a pretty good life, but I must confess... I do wish I could debate some of these guys. I'd love to be on a debate stage going up against these guys with the presidency on the line."
Please Lord, allow Stephen A. Smith and Donald Trump to somehow debate (and just imagine the mediator throwing a question to both about the Dallas Cowboys).
Smith went on to say that he really doesn't desire a job in politics, but that his tune might change if the right opportunity ever presented itself:
"I'm half joking but I kind of mean it. I have no desire to be a congressional figure or a senator. But if you came to me and told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it."
Stephen A. Smith 2028... doesn't seem too crazy does it?
The ESPN personality continued by saying that the only problem he would have with running is that he wouldn't get sucked into being a Republican or a Democrat. Smith says he would come into the race somewhere in the middle, and for good reason:
"Here's the problem. I would be an independent, because I don't like either side. And I'm not going to be bought and paid for. I'm going to do what's in the best interest of the American people. Whatever that may be. And I'm going to make my decisions and I'm going to stand on them."
He's certainly starting to sound presidential.
One of the final questions that Stephen A. Smith was asked during his time with
The View was what he would change about politics if he could. And it was as if he had been waiting the whole time to be asked that question, because he quickly fired back with this:
"Lobbyists. Because the politicians are bought and paid for on both sides. Look at the Democratic and the Republican national conventions. Look in all of the suites. They're billionaires. They're running the show. We all know this.
Not to be disrespectful to our politicians, but to some degree they are puppets. You have to succumb to the pockets of other people. They influence things. They're not giving you this money for nothing. And I don't want to do that."
