![“It Was Well Worth It” – Nick Bosa Defends Wearing A MAGA Hat Following Trump Win]()
![Nick Bosa]()
San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa isn't backing down - especially with Donald Trump winning back the presidency.
The standout defensive player has always been outspoken about who he supports politically, and he made that loud and clear a couple of weeks ago when he
crashed a Sunday Night Football postgame interview wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat.
As you'll see in the clip below, Bosa didn't say anything to interrupt Brock Purdy's interview. He just simply ran into frame while wearing the hat, pointed at it, and then exited from the view of the camera:

Shoutout to Melissa Stark for handling that moment so well.
Later on that night during Bosa's availability with the media, the 49ers star had opted for a hat change. When he was asked about making the political statement that he did by photo-bombing the
SNF broadcast, Bosa decided to keep things short:
"I'm not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it's an important time."

After all of that, many were quick to call for Nick Bosa to be "canceled," and likened it to the situation when Colin Kaepernick spoke out about politics - a move that Kaepernick believes effectively blackballed himself from the NFL.
And Bosa flashing the MAGA hat was
actually a violation of NFL rules. The rule book states that as long as players are visible to a television or stadium audience (including but not limited to pregame festivities and postgame press conferences) they are not allowed to display any political messaging unless otherwise cleared with the league office. That rule applies to any “personal messaging,” and the rulebook also adds a fun additional detail of “such approved items must be modest in size, tasteful, non-commercial, and non-controversial.”
Long story short, Bosa could be hit with a fine from the NFL at some point. He was actually asked about it today while he was in the San Francisco locker room, and the 49ers defensive lineman didn't show any regret about the whole situation. He actually welcomed a fine from the NFL if they so choose to send one his way:
"I haven't gotten (a fine) yet. But if it comes, it comes."
Bosa was then asked a follow up question, with a reporter inquiring if Bosa was aware that he could be fined for wearing the MAGA prior to crashing the nationally broadcasted SNF post-game interview. In a very short, stoic manner, the NFL player responded with this:
"Yeah. It was well worth it."
Obviously, Bosa is saying that the wearing of the hat - and the subsequent fine if it does eventually come - was well worth all of the trouble considering that Donald Trump won the election and will officially become the 47th President of the United States (the first since Grover Cleveland to have two split terms).
Reporters in the locker room continued to pester Nick about his stance, and the football star eventually said that people should just get used to him being outspoken about Donald Trump:
"I don't think my position on speaking about it is going to change. Clearly the nation spoke and we got what we got."
He's not wrong.
My favorite part of the tense interview is that one media member tried to lighten it up at the very end, basically asking Bosa if he enjoyed watching the election results pour in over the night, with Trump eventually being crowned the winner into the wee hours of the morning.
Nick Bosa didn't open up too much to that question either, still looking rather annoyed as he muttered:
"It was fun. It was a good time. Stayed up (to watch it)."

After all the trouble it's caused him, I doubt we see Nick Bosa in a MAGA hat during the NFL season again.
But he's undoubtedly wearing it proudly in his personal and private life with
Trump taking back the White House in a matter of months.
