If You’re Gonna Break A Table At A Buffalo Bills Game, You Have To Do Better Than This Lady

Buffalo Bills

I can feel the blood rushing to my cheeks while I watch this clip again and again; like a train wreak, I can't look away. The city of Buffalo is known for three things: hot wings, the Bills, and Bills Mafia members launching themselves through the air onto folding tables while other fans chug Labatt Blues. I got to go to a Bills game back in college and let me tell you, everything you hear about the tailgate scene is true. I firsthand witnesses a dude jump from the top of a van onto a table covered in lighter fluid that fortunately didn't fully ignite before impact while pretty much blacked out in the parking lot before the game started, though starting to drink whiskey at 5am will do that to you regardless of whether you're at a Bills game or not. The ritual of table-breaking is huge in football culture thanks to Bills Mafia, with fans "baptizing" their babies with their first table slam and it has become a right of passage for a Bills Mafia member to take a leap at some point in their life (my roommate did his at around 3:30 in the mornings, in his underwear, after a night at the bar), and a fan-page posted a clip of a lady at her first Bills game trying to do her city proud this weekend. But, as you know by now, it didn't go according to plan at all. You have to watch it for yourself to get the sheer scope of embarrassment she must have felt, but a large crowd of Bills fans gathered around just outside Lumen Field in Seattle before the Bills put a beatdown on the Seahawks to witness Daryn's first ever attempt at a table break. After she climbed up onto the step of a U-Haul, a guy with a microphone started the team's fight song and let her yell out the "Let's Go Buffalo" part, which went well enough, but when what should have been the crescendo moment came, it all fell apart. Daryn yelled "The Bills make me wanna" and the crowd answered "Shout!" and though she was clearly nervous, she jumped onto the table. The problem was she was clearly scared of getting hurt and landed so awkwardly and gently that the table barely budged and she almost scorpioned onto her face. She tried again, and again, as the crowd lost its steam, everyone hoping for this to pass before it became to much for everyone involved... https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBoqvLFSCEW/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Yes, eventually she was able to break it but man, that was just bad... If you're going to do it you've got to do it; like a band-aid, the only way is hard and fast. Safe to say, people in the comments did not hold back: "She clearly didn’t drink enough I have second hand embarrassment from this I feel like I’m the only person that don’t like this That should be an ad for the table She didn’t commit and chickened out. That’s why it didn’t break. She's not worthy She will be in pain tomorrow Girl go home.....asap" Obviously it's all in good fun and you have to give her credit for following through and agreeing to do this in the first place, but man, you've got to commit if you want this to happen. Sure, it may hurt but it's better than bruising your shoulder three or four times for a lesser result. The Bills' fanbase will always hold a special place in my heart but someone needs to give this lady some pointers for next go around.
