![“He’s Been A Model Citizen” – Myles Garrett Strongly Defends Deshaun Watson After Browns Fans Cheered For His Achilles Injury]()
![Myles Garrett]()
Myles Garrett seems like a model citizen, except for that time he swung a helmet with all his might at Mason Rudolph's helmetless head. Facetiousness of that line aside, Garrett might be a little too forgiving when it comes to his teammate, disgraced quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Fans in attendance for the Browns' 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday began applauding
when Watson went down with an Achilles rupture that was plain as day to see live.

Is that kinda messed up? Yeah you could say so. Garrett insisted during his postgame press conference that Watson didn't deserve such cruel treatment, and said a whole lot of other glowing things about his character that frankly don't add up.

Granted, Garrett knows Deshaun better than all the people who criticize him and loathe the Browns for rewarding him with a fully-guaranteed $230 million contract in the wake of well
more than 20 sexual misconduct lawsuits. Many argue that Watson's alleged "predatory" behavior toward massage therapists should've probably gotten him exiled from the NFL for good. Instead, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam broke the bank for him, and he's returned that investment by breaking the collective spirit of the perpetually moribund Browns franchise.
Cleveland is a football town when the Browns are rolling. No question about it. They just never are. They get in their own way. And this extends to this presser sequence from the far prouder face of their organization, Myles Garrett. Look, I get that he's just having his QB's back, but by any measure, Watson has been one of the worst players in the entire sport. Great to hear that he works hard, plays the game hard, carries himself well around the Browns facility, and was a good dude in college.
Just want to see some of this in big print again to make sure I have it right and that my ears aren't deceiving me.

Hey Myles, you're entitled to your opinion.
However, I think it's a pretty low bar to clear for any given human to feel they have the edge re: moral high ground on Deshaun Watson.
The notion that Watson does "pretty much everything right" and has been a model citizen from his days at Clemson to also the pros" is where I can't wrap my head around this. Myles, you're dunking on yourself. This was 100% avoidable. What does Watson do
right? If it's not playing football well or acting remotely appropriate toward women, what is it? Those are two pretty significant demerits, sir!
Calling out the fans and telling them nobody, whatever's happened on or off the field, deserves to be cheered when they're seriously injured, especially if it's their own player. Could've stopped it there. But no. The Browns' unique achievements in self-sabotage seem to have rubbed off on their biggest star. Get Myles Garrett out of Cleveland. Somebody come get him. Don't make him have to defend Deshaun Watson at the podium.
Garrett is one of the best defenders of his generation. Sadly, he's lighting his career on fire thanks to the albatross of Watson's contract weighing down the rest of this latest sadness factory-made rendition of the Cleveland Browns.
