The feats of the Florida Man know no bounds. An individual nicknamed Lieutenant Dan is hogging the headlines among Hurricane Milton's most viral survivors, but this other Florida Man and his lovely lady weathered the storm in their own exotic way. It's deserving of a standing ovation.
While Lieutenant Dan rode out the natural disaster in his modest boat and many other Sunshine State residents evacuated to escape the brutal damage, one couple defied the odds by securing their house with ratchet straps and hoping for the best. Unlike some of the tragic scenes America has witnessed in Hurricane Milton's aftermath, this one had a happy ending. The house is still standing and looks relatively intact.

Now it's hard to know precisely where the residence was relative to the worst of the hurricane, but if you're fastening your house with ratchet straps, you're anticipating a heavy hit. You can see in the longer video that the woman who lives there was still going to check the roof for damage, so the home must've been in the line of Mother Nature's explosive ire. Good move to board up the windows, too. Some Florida homes have reinforced glass designed to be storm-proof. Unclear if that's the case here, but better safe than sorry in any event. The house was also in a no-flood zone, which is ideal given the perpetual high risk other residences closer to the coast face. Never hurts to drop a link to Project HOPE, one of the many resources out there to help with Hurricane Milton relief efforts. Again, it's a refreshing change-up to see a survival story, but many out there were less fortunate.Florida man who strapped his entire house in preparation off the hurricane Milton, has his house still standing. pic.twitter.com/8Zx7ZQz2NU
