![“Haven’t Even Spilt My Coffee Yet” – Everyone’s Favorite Florida Man, Lieutenant Dan, Posts Live Update As He Rides Out Hurricane Milton In His Sailboat]()

LIEUTENANT DAN HAS TIKTOK.
It's about time that everyone's favorite Florida Man cut out the middle men and started posting on his own. And just in case you've missed out on this whole story, let me get you caught up real quick. There's a one-legged-man in the Tampa Harbor
trying to ride out Hurricane Milton in his 20-foot sailboat.
And the whole country - if not the world - is rooting for him.
For the most part, its been other social media accounts posting about the man, whose actual name is Joseph Malinowski. Some people on social media have likely been refreshing every chance they get trying to
get more updates about Lieutenant Dan, and now, it appears the best way to hear about the Florida Man is straight from the source.
By the time you are likely reading this, Hurricane Milton - now considered a Category 3 hurricane - is hitting the west coast of Florida. The Tampa area has been in the crosshairs of the storm for quite some time now, and funny enough, the certified Florida Man that's captivated the world has his sailboat parked right in the Tampa Harbor (he's
insisted that God told him to be there for this).
And in a live update we just got a little bit ago from Joseph Malinowski himself, things were all good in his sailboat about an hour and a half before the hurricane was set to hit the area:
"They're saying the storm is about an hour and a half out, and if that's the case, even its double what it is now, that's not a problem. I'm not free floating. I've got my bow secured (to the dock), so I can only go so far from the dock... No structural damage, I'm not taking on any water. Everything is safe, hasn't been bad. I haven't even spilt my coffee yet."
No fear.
He even went on to say that dealing with social media requests and news interviews has been worse than actually battling the hurricane. Though he did say that he was honored to be a story that's spreading around the world:
"Things are going to change. I didn't plan this, I didn't expect this, but this is what God's plan was for me - to bring the country together, to bring the world together."
Godspeed Lieutenant Dan, Godspeed.
All I know is that I'll be keeping my eyes
glued to his TikTok account for more updates.
It seems as though everyone (maybe except for city officials that tried to get him to evacuate) on social media is rooting for the Florida Man to make it through Hurricane Milton unscathed, as you'll see in some of the posts below cheering him on:
