![“Go To Your Room!” – Archie Manning Grounded Peyton & Eli Live On The Monday Night Football ManningCast]()
![Peyton & Eli Manning]()
Must be tough to be in the Manning family. As of late they've had a
third-generation quarterback of theirs starting for the University of Texas, a ho-hum college football program now ranked No. 1 in the country.
We'll have plenty of time to talk about Longhorns QB Arch Manning in the future. For now, the subject is Arch-
ie, the longtime New Orleans Saints signal-caller whose sons won two Super Bowls apiece and now do a live stream with their surnamesake on
Monday Night Football.
In an otherwise dud of a game in which the two-time defending champion Chiefs clamped down and beat down the Saints 26-13 (it wasn't even
that close), Archie popped onto the ManningCast right toward the end. And it was gold.
Eli explained how he was punching a Fat Head-sized rendering of Peyton's exaggerated forehead. This triggered Archie to defend Peyton and ground Eli in front of millions of viewers. How humiliating for the New York Giants legend!

But as brothers are liable to do whilst protesting to their parents, they try to get the other bro in trouble just so they don't look quite so bad by comparison. Textbook case by Eli. He rolled footage of Peyton not minding his manners and chewing his food with his mouth closed. That led to Archie laying down the law of the Manning household yet again.

You'd think Archie's iron fist disciplinarian ways would discourage Eli from any further shenanigans. Alas, the mic picked up a hilariously unintentional profanity (right at the end of the clip, wait for it) when he was describing how New Orleans couldn't block a soul on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

Can't say I tune into the ManningCast often, because there's a lot of dead space, general awkwardness, talking over each other constantly during interviews with guests. The list goes on.
I'm not saying I dislike Peyton and Eli and their dynamic. They're hilarious together. Small doses are best for me is all. But this? More of this family feuding!
Archie should ground both the brothers again for putting him on during garbage time. That is an insult in and of itself.
In the pantheon of the many legendary
SportsCenter commercials, the one with Peyton, Eli and Archie — and Arch Manning's father, eldest brother Cooper — might be my personal favorite. It's in the conversation at least. Can't think of anything better to play you out with, so enjoy.
