![The Hawk Tuah Girl Haliey Welch Shuts Down Rumors That She’s Suing Creators Of Original Viral Video]()
![Hawk Tuah]()
Fake news.
Of course by now everybody's seen the biggest viral video of the year, the man-on-the-street interview in Nashville that made Haliey Welch an overnight celebrity when she was asked her advice for pleasing a man in bed:
"You gotta give 'em that hawk tuah, spit on that thang."
The result was a meme that has far outlived its shelf life, as Welch has now parlayed her viral moment into appearances with Zach Bryan, Matt Rife, Bill Maher, Shaq, throwing out the first pitch of a New York Mets game, and most recently, her own podcast called
Talk Tuah.
Was it funny at the time? Sure. There were some pretty hilarious memes and videos going around. But after about a week I feel like the hawk tuah meme should have just been happy to become a funny moment in internet history.
But here we are, still talking about the "Hawk Tuah" girl months later. Not sure what that says about our society, but that's a different discussion I guess.
Anyway, that original video was recently back in the spotlight after a viral video online claimed that Welch was suing the guys who made and posted it.
The original "Hawk Tuah" video was made by Nashville-based YouTube/TikTok creators Tim & Dee TV. But Welch has expressed her displeasure with the guys who made her famous, revealing on her podcast that she didn't get any money from the viral video (although I would argue that ALL of the money she's made has been from that video...) and that they blocked her on social media after she tried to contact them when the video began to go viral.
And recently rumors began swirling that the Hawk Tuah girl was suing Tim & Dee TV, presumably because she didn't get any money from the video,

One of the guys from Tim & Dee TV even seemingly confirmed that they were being sued, claiming that it was "not fake news" and that they would be dropping a video with the "receipts."
But Welch responded to a now-deleted post on the alleged lawsuit, calling it "fake news."

She obviously doesn't have a great relationship with the guys who made her famous, but as of right now it doesn't sound like she's going to be dragging them into court.
