![The FOX NFL Sunday Crew Pranked Gronk Into Believing That The Cowboys Had A Star Tight End Who Was Missing Two Fingers…And He Just Went With It]()
![Rob Gronkowski]()
Gotta love Gronk.
One of Tom Brady's favorite targets during their time together with the New England Patriots, Rob Gronkowski has gained a reputation for being a loveable, if somewhat...well, slow at times, NFL superstar.
Gronk was the butt of frequent jokes about his intelligence (or lack thereof) during the Netflix roast of Brady. But he's a good sport, and a likeable guy, so it's no surprise that after hanging it up he ended up on TV.
The former tight end joined NFL on FOX last year, and made his return this week after missing the past two Sundays. So in honor of having Gronk back in the studio, the FOX NFL Sunday crew decided to share footage of a little prank they pulled on the rookie analyst last year.
As they were "going live" to preview a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills, the panel of Curt Menefee, Jay Glazer, Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan pretended to have breaking news that the Cowboys had just activated their star tight end Rich Russo - who doesn't exist.
But Gronk was a good sport and just rolled with it, praising "Russo" for what he was going to bring to the "1-2 combo" for the Cowboys with fellow tight end Jake Ferguson.
The guys then decided to take it a little farther, with Terry Bradshaw slipping in the fact that Russo was missing two fingers - which led to a great line from Gronk:
"I still have all five of my fingers."
Only five, eh Gronk?
The crew began cracking up while pointing out that Gronk actually had ten fingers, before revealing the prank to Gronk: Russo doesn't exist.
Gronk was a good sport about it, admitting that he was going to ask after they went off the air who the hell Rich Russo was. And he said he learned two things from the prank: That he's a funny guy, and that he's always ready.
Classic Gronk.
