All good things come to an end. Well... I'm not sure I'd categorize this as a good thing, but I am heartbroken that I have to find a new celebrity couple to make fun of after hearing this news.
Hot off the press, Kirstin Cavallari has broken things off with her 24-year-old boyfriend and member of the social media group Montana Boyz.
Earlier this year, Kristin Cavallari, former wife of Jay Cutler,
launched her new relationship, which took social media by storm. She began dating a 24-year-old Mark Estes. Estes is a former Montana Tech and Montana State University football player. Had Cavallari put out their relationship announcement, taking the slight heat for their age gap, and moved on...this relationship would not be a topic in pop culture. However, the
commentary around their relationship continued due to Cavallari frequently speaking about him on her podcast or having him as a guest.
From Cavallari cringely asking why he waited
"so long" to get into a relationship, old clips resurfacing that she would never date anyone
below the age of 26, telling her fans she'd
have his children, to opening up a little too much about their
sex life, social media was given constant goldmine of information about this couple. And while I would hope they were together for the right reasons, all the clips circulating social media made it seem as though this was not an "end game" relationship.
Based on what Cavallari shared during last night's
Call Her Daddy: Unwell West Tour show, that outlook would be correct as her relationship is over. Cavallari was Alex Cooper's surprise guest last night, and during the Q+A portion of her time one stage, a fan asked her a question about her relationship. Cavallari gets shy, noting that it's "so fresh."
"I mean, that's a good question... it's so fresh, you guys... but..."
After she says that, the crowd begins to buzz with chatter, and you can feel a few audible gasps around the social media user filming her reply.
"It's not even online yet, Daddy Gang."
Alex Cooper says into her microphone.
"I'm announcing it on my podcast on Tuesday. Yeah, you guys just don't post it until Tuesday. Okay, thanks."
After the crowd quiets and Cavallari and Cooper stop laughing about how the question leads to revealing that, she goes back to answering part of the fan's question.
I'll be very interested to see how Cavallari expands on how the relationship ended or what caused them to part ways come Tuesday. Any breakup or heartbreak is never fun, so we hope Cavallari heals quickly.
But... I think this might have been for the best...
