When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And if life gives you fish, fry them up.
The Louisiana coast is working to recover after being hit by Hurricane Francine yesterday, a category 2 storm that left widespread flooding around the state.
But if you know anything about the Cajuns down in Louisiana, they'll throw anything on the grill and make it taste delicious. Ever had grilled alligator? If you haven't, you're missing out.
Well in Kenner, just outside of New Orleans, floodwaters left many of the streets in the city impassible after the canals along the roadways flooded. But hard times bring opportunity - and in this case, fish. And according to Fox 8 NOLA, folks in the suburb are catching those fish that were swimming in the streets and cooking them up for dinner.

Talk about living off the land.
Now, would I recommend eating the fish out of the canals? Definitely not. The runoff in that water is filled with floodwater, sewage, and who knows what else. They're also carp, so not exactly a delicacy when it comes to eating. But hey, if you're flooded in, you make due with what you've got.
Of course, plenty of people think that those eating the fish are going to be doing the dance of the flaming sphincter pretty soon:

Gotta love Louisiana. That's "Kenner, brah" for you.
