Good for Jason Kelce keeping the Philadelphia Eagles' tradition of releasing an annual Christmas album alive one last time. The legendary center has a lot on his post-retirement plate as he braces for what could be a truly transcendent media career, and it says a lot about the man that he's still carving out time for some team bonding in this fashion.
It was recently announced that A Philly Special Christmas Party, apparently the last of its kind, will release on digital platforms this year on November 29. The 12-track album will feature three original sounds, which has me intrigued as can be to see what Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata will bring to those numbers with his Fergie-Jesus blend of vocal talents.

The last time I invoked that Step Brothers reference was regarding Lions rookie Sione Vaki, who showed off his pipes in front of assembled media members. Maybe someday Vaki will come over to Philadelphia from Detroit and get to collaborate on one of these albums, should the fellas decide to extend the tradition.
Possibly collaborating someday with Taylor Swift is reason enough for the Eagles to keep producing these albums each year at least a few more times. Kelce couldn't quite use the family ties of his brother Travis to get Taylor to cameo on A Philly Special Christmas Party. While I admire Taylor just letting the Philly boys do their thang, I think that's a card the Eagles could pull if and when Travis and Taylor get engaged or are sharing their first Christmas as a married couple. You know that album would be a mainstay atop the charts and/or streaming for a good long time around the holiday season if Taylor just hopped on for a mere track or two.
Lots of NFL fans are already sick of Taylor Swift and we're only days removed from the Chiefs' season opener. I personally think it's great that Taylor brought a bunch of women to an NFL audience, and people who can't handle, like, 15 total seconds of airtime cutting to the biggest pop music superstar on the planet can kick rocks, argue with a wall, and so on.
I understand how this album concept could get a little stale, but I'm all for a Jordan Mailata-Taylor Swift duet-driven track someday. Let's see if it comes to pass. Guess we'll have to settle for Mailata and Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis until then. Surely Davis can get in on the Philly Specials action as a teammate, right?

PS, shout out to the Philly local news for dealing with Eagles fans 24/7/365 and to album artwork creator Hannah Westerman for her impeccable work!
