![Amy Slaton mugshot]()
I hope the cameras were rolling for this one.
I've never watched
1,000-Lb. Sisters, so I don't know a whole lot about it. I know it's about some trashy sisters who are really fat, and I've seen clips of them at the doctor on social media so I assume they're trying to lose weight, but that's about it.
But as little as I know about them, this news today still doesn't surprise me at all.
Amy Slaton Halterman, one of the eponymous stars of the TLC "reality" show, was arrested on drug charges yesterday while visiting the Tennessee Safari Park, a drive-thru zoo in Alamo, Tennessee, about an hour and a half outside of Memphis.
According to the Crockett County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrived at the park after a guest reported being bitten by a camel. But when they made contact with the victim of the camel bite, they were "immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest's vehicle."
Now, a couple of things I have to say here: First, without knowing much about this woman, she looks like the type of person who would get bit by a camel. I don't even know why, but when I hear a lady got bit by a camel, she's the kind of person that comes to mind.
And second, "suspicious odors" coming from the car? I have a feeling that's probably putting it mildly. Probably smelled worse than the zoo in there.
But anyway, Amy was ultimately arrested for illegal possession of schedule I and schedule IV drugs, and two counts of child endangerment. A man who was with her, Brian Lovvorn, was also arrested on the same charges. It's not clear what type of drugs were found, or who the children were, but Slaton shares two children with her estranged husband, Michael Halterman.
