I wanna go to this guy's church.
When it comes to pre-race invocations, there aren't many that stand out. Not that they're supposed to, but most of them are just your general prayer for safety over the fans and drivers.
Of course every once in awhile you get a preacher who delivers a memorable prayer ahead of a race. The one that comes to mind is obviously the classic from Pastor Joe Nelms during the Xfinity Series race at Nashville Superspeedway back in 2011.

But now we've got another one to add to the list.
NASCAR is getting ready to go green in the Coca Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. And before they fired the engines, Chaplain Mack Vendome once again invoked "Talladega Nights" in his prayer - and also included a tribute to NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip with his famous catchphrase:
"Dear God, as we are gathered here this evening to celebrate these gentlemen, shake and bake like Ricky Bobby. Help us to remember we also have a race that we must run. Help us to also shake and bake.
Stress, somedays depressed, help us to remember we are blessed. We must shake and bake...
And on the days when it's hard to get out of bed, help us to remember those famous and fateful words: Boogity, boogity, boogity."
That's one that's going to be remembered.
